FAQ

Where is your office located?

I provide all in-person sessions at my office. Depending on the location, I also can engage in sessions in-home or at school for children when needed.

4055 S 700 E, Suite 102j Millcreek, UT 84107

Do you provide online therapy?

I provide Telehealth (aka ‘Online Therapy’) sessions for anyone in the state of Utah. Online therapy takes place on a HIPAA-compliant, secure video platform on Doxy.me, or a HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom.

How long are the sessions?

A typical session is 50 minutes. I do offer a 90-minute initial consultation session as well. At times, I recommend a 90-minute session when engaging in EMDR.

Do you take insurance?

I am not an in-network provider with any insurance company. Therefore, I do not accept insurance like you usually use it.

As an out-of-network provider, I can help my clients take advantage of their out-of-network benefits. I am happy to provide you with the necessary documentation, a “Superbill,” that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement for services.

However, I cannot guarantee that you will receive reimbursement. That is solely at the discretion of your insurance company.

What is your cancellation policy?

I realize life can be difficult and unexpected things can arise at times. However, I do require a 24-hour notice of cancellation. I do charge a fee for cancellations less than 24 hours or if you miss a session with a no-call. Please call or text in the event you need to cancel.

What age ranges do you work with?

I work with children ages 3-10, and adults.

Do your clients receive assignments to work on between sessions?

Yes, I will typically give my clients an assignment or goal to focus on or work on between sessions.

What will we do in therapy together?

Therapy will look a little different for each person, depending on their needs. It is important that you feel safe and comfortable working with me. Therefore, we will start with getting to know each other and gather some history.

Therapy will address your needs or concerns at hand; I prefer to let the client lead the sessions with what feels most pressing to them. My hope for each session is you will either leave with a new gained insight, a new tool to practice, or both!

Each session, we will check in with any homework assignments from the previous session and discuss. During your sessions, we will set goals for your therapy, address coping skills, and build resources.

When seeing my child, am I allowed to be in the room?

I typically do not have the parents in the room for children-therapy sessions. I find that children are more open and engaging when there is not a parent present.

However, if we are engaging in parent training or coaching session, then a parent/s and child will be present for that session.

I also will schedule parent consultation meetings to hear parental concerns and what they are seeing at home; is there progress? These are typically done once a month; however, we will discuss a schedule that feels comfortable for all parties involved.
