Life shouldn’t feel this hard.

Jude* has noticed he is not feeling like himself.

He has been avoiding this thought and continuing to show up for life and work each day. But he feels like it is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid the feelings of exhaustion while hiding the worry and pain.

The more difficult avoidance becomes, the more frequent the binging on alcohol. Jude gets home from work, takes that first shot, and thinks, “Yes, it will all be gone soon, and my brain will shut off.”

Jude runs out the door, late for work, disappointed in himself again while struggling to remember what happened the previous night.

At this point, Jude starts to acknowledge the truth – he is struggling, feeling alone, scared, and identifying that his negative thoughts probably aren’t normal. His drinking is only making things worse.

Jude questions how he got this deep and when it all started. He decides that it’s time to face the facts, deal with his feelings, and turn things around – but he’s unsure of where to start.

The thoughts and feelings are constant, intense, and cluttered. Jude thinks, “Where would I start in this mess?” It leads him to want to hide more, but he knows he can’t do this alone.

No one should do this alone.

Jude started searching for help and made his first therapy appointment. He no longer needs to untangle his confused mind by himself.

During Jude’s course of individual therapy, he unraveled everything, bit by bit, as he felt comfortable. He began to understand where it all started, how he got to where he is now, what beliefs keep him stuck, and how to live.

As a result of individual therapy, Jude will no longer have to learn to deal with how he feels. Instead, he knows to live a life with peace and balance!

Jude learned to identify what healthy tools help him each day, work through any negative thoughts, and prevent those thoughts from creeping back into his life. He feels empowered to live his life.

Individual therapy for adults allows us to understand ourselves today and in our past. With our work in therapy, we can have insight into what we want to create for our future, our blank slate.

Through individual therapy, we can identify the current and core struggles and beliefs that keep us stuck. Therapy helps us identify the symptoms of depression, anxiety, or trauma that have played a role in how we behave.

But better yet, therapy teaches us how to work through those symptoms, using helpful tools, allowing us to go on each day with happiness.
